Introducing the dTIMS Insider Challenge
by Jeff Zavitski, Deighton

Commencing with this edition, each release of the Deighton Insider will contain a new challenge for users of dTIMS to help broaden your dTIMS skills and help understand the implementation of your dTIMS Analysis.

Each entry received will be entered into a draw for a Starbucks Coffee Card and the winners* will be announced in the next issue!

The March Challenge is to pull up a treatment within your dTIMS implementation and bring up the library of resets for the treatment. Once the list of resets are displayed, capture the screen with the print screen button and then, send the screen capture along with a written description of each of the reset filters and expressions to support@deighton.com. Describe in words what each filter/expression resets and why that reset is important to your analysis.

* There will be 3 winners each month. One winner per agency.

Deighton and The City of Phoenix Host Regional Workshop
by Arif Rafiq, Deighton

The middle of February 2012 marked the beginning of an annual event. Deighton and The City of Phoenix joined forces to host a Pavement Management Workshop designed to serve as a forum for The City of Phoenix and surrounding municipalities to get together and discuss issues related to pavement and asset management.

The City of Phoenix, being a Deighton client, currently uses dTIMS for pavement management and is exploring the possibility to use dTIMS for additional roadway assets. The City of Phoenix is a natural host for this event as many of the surrounding municipalities in the valley can look to them for ideas and practices. Big thanks go out to Rubben Lolly, P.E., from the City of Phoenix for helping to put this successful event together!

New Deighton Client Area
by Craig German, Deighton

The Deighton Client Area, formerly known as the Deighton Online Learning Community, has moved but still contains the same client resources. Click on the Client Login button (located on the top right corner of every page) to access the Client Area. You will notice when you get to the login screen the Username drop down box containing agency names has disappeared. You will need to type in your agency name and corresponding password. If you have forgotten either of these please contact Craig German.

Once you have logged in to the Client Area you will have access to the following folders:

  • File Manager - Download the latest software service releases, hasp updates, utilities, reference manuals and more.
  • FAQs - Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are divided into three sections: General, Installation and Software.
  • Insider Archives - The Deighton Insider is a monthly newsletter containing general interest stories about Deighton projects, clients and distributors.
  • Presentation Archives - The Deighton User Conference (DUC) is the annual event that unites the Deighton community. Get archived presentations here.

In addition to the new Deighton Client Area, we have also changed the way files are uploaded to Deighton. We are currently testing a product called Sharefile to handle uploads. If you need to upload a file please contact us first. Future issues of the Insider will detail how to use Sharefile to upload a file.
