Gordon Hart receives Āpōpō Life Membership

Exciting news! Gordon Hart, IDS Director, has been honoured by Āpōpō with Life Membership at their recent 2024 Asset Management Excellence Awards, where they shared his outstanding contributions to the industry.

Citation by Dr Theuns Henning – Life Member

Gordon Hart started his career with the Ministry of Works followed by three years as IT Manager for the Airways Corporation. On his return to the Transit New Zealand, he became an asset manager on the State Highways. In this capacity he served on the RAMM Advisory Committee, who was responsible for the ongoing development of the Transfund New Zealand’s RAMM product.

When RAMM was commercialized, Gordon was also part of the group that morphed into the RIMS Group, who was now tasked with best practices in Information Management Systems for the country.

Gordon became the project manager for RIMS and Transit in setting up deterioration

modelling capability, leading towards securing a national site license of the dTIMS product.

Gordon was then responsible for delivering the implementation and ongoing support of the dTIMS implementation since 1998 and is still a Director of IDS, who has been managing the project for the past 15 years. He also led and contributed several other national initiatives such as the development of the forward works planning tool -NOMAD, the establishment of the Long-term Pavement Performance (LTPP) monitoring program and co-developer of several practice guides such as the sealing manual and several guides under the RIMS Body of Knowledge. He chaired the RIMS Group for more than five years.

Gordon keeps on contributing in the furthering of asset management through his governance of IDS, mentoring young asset managers and applying his passion for asset management in areas outside of the roading community.

Congratulations Gordon!
