Have Your Say About The Future Of The Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) Programme

Waka Kotahi (NZTA), in association with IDS, welcome you to attend FREE workshops to gather your feedback about what information you require from the next version of the LTPP programme.

What the LTPP has achieved to date

Over the past 19 years, the New Zealand LTPP has been one of the cornerstones for the development of advanced analytics to forecast maintenance and renewals on road pavements in New Zealand.

Across 63 LTPP sites on the state highway network and more than 80 sites on local council roads, the programme has collected invaluable data and information.

Inventory data, including surface and pavement information;

  • Annual manual condition survey data from the calibration survey contractor including roughness, rutting, texture and visual rating;

  • FWD survey data; and,

  • Maintenance history data submitted directly to the NZTA.

  • The programme delivered on the questions from the industry that ranged from the way we collect data, how fast our pavements deteriorate, understanding pavement strength and material performance.

It has been instrumental in establishing a research area in New Zealand to develop skills amongst practitioners, many now associated with the NZTA and local government.

Your data needs moving forward

Most LTPP sites have gone through a full cycle of resurfacing and/or rehabilitation and there is a general need to review the make-up and future use of the programme’s performance data.

It’s important we have the industry’s input into shaping the LTPP programme’s future data needs and use. We want to hear from the industry where the knowledge gaps are in pavement design and long-term performance.

Join us at the workshops and tell us what you need from LTPP-II .
